Hockey Players 4 Pupils!!!

On October 27th four English speaking HCB players (Ryan Glenn, Brodie Reid, Clark Seymour, Travis Oleksuk) were hosted in our "English Room" and in the library. They talked to the pupils about setting goals for their future and answered a lot of questions...

Today, 27th of October 2016, we had a gathering with two Canadian hockey players of the HCB, the Hockey Club Bolzano. The day before we prepared some questions about different topics to ask them.
The two players from Vancouver, Ryan Glenn and Brodie Reid, told us about their families, their private life, their attitudes towards health and their sport. It was also very interesting to see how they combine their private life with their fulltime job. Ryan and Brodie started playing when they were 3 years old and now they have been playing for the HCB for two years.
After the interview we could ask for pictures with Ryan and Brodie and for their autographs. They also brought us some books about the history of the team and we received tickets for a match.
The atmosphere was very pleasant and we think the guests had a good time.

On Thursday the 27th October, Travis Oleksuk and Clark Seymour came to our school to talk about their job. For the two hockey players a child dream has come true, since they have been able to turn their passion into a job.
Both are Canadian and have been hired by the Foxes Hockey Team Bolzano. They'd never been to Italy before, so the journey was really exciting for the athletes.
Of course they miss their friends and family in Canada as well as the Canadian food, but they also enjoy traditonal South Tyrolean dishes.
As the students started to ask questions about the politician Donald Trump or singer Justin Bieber, both agreed that they were definitely not fans of either.
They told us that their parents are their biggest idols and they definitely enjoy a good nap and a consistent meal before a game. The games are really exciting for them, but on the other hand they can also get hurt since hockey is a very rough and violent sport. They have already fractured a few bones so far, but are proud of never having had a fight with rival teams, which seems to be quite common in Canada.
At the end, both of them were really nice when we asked them to pose for a photo with our class.
