Am 7. Mai 2024 finden die Wahlen des Obersten Schulrates statt. Es handelt sich hierbei um ein Kollegialorgan auf Staatsebene mit beratender Funktion für das Ministerium für Unterricht.

Mid-East Conflict Explained by a South Tyrolean Eyewitness
The last part of our interdisciplinary project "Israel and Palestine" (English-Italian-History) was set to be an explanation of the Palestinian situation in the Mid-East conflict. Therefore, our English teacher Ms. Seppi invited her friend Samantha Plattner, who had spent six months in the West Bank in 2005, to talk about her experience and her opinion on the conflict.
First, she gave us an overview of the history and of most of the events that led to the current state of affairs. Regarding her experiences she had in that area, she talked about the Palestinian way of living, the daily house searches by Israelian soldiers, and about many other situations in their everyday life. Most of us were pretty surprised by the stories she told us because they surpassed our imagination by far.
After her presentation, we were encouraged to ask questions, not only regarding the history of the conflict, but about her attendance in the territory as well. At the end of the lesson, as we still had some time left, Samantha Plattner, who is an Arabic teacher at the language center in Bolzano, showed us how to write some of our names in Arabic.
In my opinion, we not only learned plenty of new things about the conflict itself, but also about the way of living in this territory.
Besides, I am pretty sure that now, regarding the controversial discussion of this conflict, some of my classmates might have a different point of view from the one they had before.
